Soup's On

One of my new years resolutions is to try a new recipe every week. This week I made Elie Krierger's Tuscan vegetable soup. It is full of veggies and is simple and quick to make. I served it with grilled cheese wedges for the children. It was really good. Cooper said he could eat it once a week, but the children were not huge fans. I told Creighton he would not get dessert if he did not eat it. After he ate his grilled cheese and a few bites of soup, he said," Mom, I think I will skip dessert tonight." . =)

Four sick children kept us inside during our *mini southern blizzard*.

So, we had to make our own snow. ;)

Thought Of The Day

We are under house arrest. The flu has come for a visit, which is

giving us plenty of down time. After tending to the patient, I looked around on the computer for a while. I found this quote by John MacArthur.

One way to provoke you child: CRITICIZE OTHERS OPENLY; CRITICIZE OTHERS ROUTINELY SO THAT YOU CHILD WILL CONTINUE TO REALIZE THAT HE IS BETTER THAN EVERYBODY ELSE.

One more thing I need to work on.

Winter Sunning

The winter blues set in early around here, so I decided we needed a plan of action. Every time the sun shines, we are heading out! We made some rice crispy treats and headed to the park. We were all in much better moods when we came home. We now have a little *Spring* in our steps.
